As a Senior Investment Analyst within the Investments, Balance Sheet Management team at AustralianSuper, Bethel is focussed on optimising risk-adjusted returns for a large portfolio of Equities and Fixed Income assets, delivering new financing capabilities and return levers, and helping to shape and sophisticate the overall long-term Securities Finance strategy.

Bethel joined AustralianSuper in March of 2020 having previously held various roles across the buy- and sell-side including at a Macro Systematic Hedge Fund and UBS Investment Bank, where he was able to gain invaluable trading and research experience and a unique perspective on portfolio management, market dynamics and investment risk. Bethel holds a Master of Applied Finance from The University of Melbourne with First Class Honours, in addition to a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance and Economics from The University of Sydney.

Bethel is tremendously curious about Capital Markets and hopes through leveraging persistent dialogue with members of GPFA he is able to continually evolve his understanding of Securities Lending, Non-traditional Cash Reinvestment, Structured Products, Repo, Financing and Collateral Management.
